The all-parties email
Some panels send one email per booking that goes to the case manager with every party copied in, so everyone can see everyone. Other panels don't, and each side only ever sees their own confirmation. Which one your panel does is a setting, and it's the single most common thing counsel asks about.
Who is actually on it
When it's switched on, a booking produces this email alongside each party's own confirmation:
- To: you — specifically the contact address on your roster link for that
mediator
- CC: every party on the case, both sides, plus any additional recipient
addresses those parties have registered
Two things follow from that, and both come up:
- The mediator is not on it. It's addressed to the case manager, not to them.
- Each party gets two emails. Their own confirmation, and this one. That's
intended; it's the "everyone can see everyone" copy.
Duplicate addresses are removed, case-insensitively, so nobody is copied twice because their address is spelled two ways on the case.
Whether your panel sends it
It's off by default, and it's set for your whole panel by Scale Mediation rather than by you. NewCo doesn't send it. Nikki Safavi's panel does.
You can tell without asking: if your panel sends it, the all-parties template appears in your CM Email Templates list. If it doesn't, the template isn't shown at all — because there'd be nothing to edit.
It's separate from branding
Two settings are easy to confuse:
- Sends the all-parties email — whether that extra email goes out
- Uses case-manager-branded templates — whether your mediators' emails arrive
from your name and reply to your address
They're independent. A panel can send the all-parties email while its ordinary emails still come from the mediator. See How to customise the panel's email templates.
